Collecting freaky listener stories and scouring the dusty pages of classic Fortean texts, the brothers use high-production sound design to set the scene for alleged real encounters with, Dogman, Poltergeists, Bigfoot, Fairy Folk, Humanoids, UFOs, Shadow People, and Sky Creatures.. just to name a few.

Attempting to parse out the facts within folklore, the brothers of the Hole banter about everything from bizarre historical mysteries to emerging clandestine conspiracy theories, often challenging their own beliefs and sometimes each other’s sanity. I’m almost positive the story you shared about the girl who was abducted in AZ was a girl I grew up with and went to church with last name Skidmore. She was taken from her mom’s van parked in front of their school while her mom popped in to the front office to do something. She spent a few days in the desert like you said, and it was during monsoon season. They asked her how she stayed dry in the storms and she said there was a circle around her where the rain didn’t fall, and she would play around putting her arm out of the circle (like kids do) and played with the other little girl who was there. Pretty awesome story!

About the parallel forest, “Purpose: The trees were planted to study windbreaks and prevent soil erosion, often linked to the Dust Bowl era experiments, although planted earlier (approx. 1912) by Frank Rush.” Very interesting episode, I listened to it three times before looking for photos and more info. Caught this discrepancy. I am subscribed now.
